The Project

The following project aims at analysing the Bauhaus' manifesto "The theory and organization of the Bauhaus" by Walter Gropius. In particular, it aims at comparing this text with the artistic experience of the Arbeitsrat für Kunst. Indeed, for this institution Bruno Taut wrote a program which was signed by Gropius himself and that has been considered a prestigious forerunner of the Weimar design school. With the support of ontological modelling and knowledge extraction techniques, we aim at highlighting similarities and divergences between these two crucial text for the art-historical development of the 20th century.
